Mental performance coach helping competitive athletes build consistency through structured mental performance training.
I have always believed that an athlete’s greatest potential is unlocked not only through physical preparation, but through the strength of their mindset. My own journey taught me that lesson firsthand.
As a walk-on at the University of North Carolina, I earned a football scholarship, became a starting defensive back, received Second Team All-ACC honors, and was awarded the Cory Boshamer Award as the program’s outstanding defensive back. I was later selected in the first round of the NFL Draft and spent nine seasons competing in the National Football League with the Buffalo Bills, Chicago Bears, and Indianapolis Colts. Those experiences showed me what it takes to perform under pressure at the highest level.
The turning point that led me to Mental Performance Center™ came through my son. As I watched him dedicate himself to becoming a better football player, I realized his greatest opportunity for growth was not physical, it was mental. While performance training strengthened his body, I saw firsthand how confidence, focus, resilience, and self-belief determined whether he could consistently perform at his best. That experience inspired me to study the science of mental performance and ultimately become a Mental Performance Center™ Certified Coach.
Today, I work with athletes of all ages and competitive levels, helping them develop the mental skills that separate good performances from consistent excellence. My goal is to help athletes build confidence that holds up under pressure, develop resilience through adversity, and compete with focus and composure when it matters most.
As a former NFL player, a father, and a coach, I understand that every athlete’s journey is unique. My role is not to create potential, but to help athletes discover the potential already within them through the proven, evidence-based system of Mental Performance Center™. I believe the greatest victory is not simply becoming a better athlete, but becoming a more confident, disciplined, and resilient person for life.
I do not give pep talks. I do not tell athletes to try harder or believe in themselves more. I teach specific, trainable mental skills that change how athletes prepare, compete, and recover.
The athletes I work with learn how to manage pressure, reset after mistakes, and show up with confidence, not because they feel different, but because they have practiced the skills that create those outcomes.
Everything I do is built on the Mental Performance Center™ system: evidence-based, structured, and designed for real competition. Not theory. Application.

"The position my son plays doesn't give you much room to unravel and MPC gave him the tools to handle that pressure. He has a reset routine that actually works and a calmness we hadn't seen from him before. His coaches brought up his leadership without us even saying anything. But what's surprised us most is how it's shown up away from football, the way he carries himself, how he handles hard conversations. He's not just becoming a better player. He's growing up."

"Carter has always been a competitive kid, but learning how to reset after mistakes has taken his game to another level. He stays locked in now, a bad shift doesn't turn into a bad period anymore. He's more vocal on the ice, more confident with the puck, and when he comes home after a tough game he actually leaves it at the rink. The biggest thing for us? He believes he belongs out there. That mindset shift has been everything."
